2026 LHFF Scream (1996)

One year after her mother’s brutal murder, high school student Sidney Prescott is trying to move on. Then a masked killer starts stalking the quiet town of Woodsboro, armed with a knife, a voice changer, and an encyclopedic knowledge of horror movies. As her classmates fall one by one, Sidney realizes the killer is playing by the rules of the genre, and anyone could be behind the mask.

Wes Craven’s sharp, self-aware slasher revived the horror genre in the ’90s by turning its clichés into a deadly guessing game. Starring Neve Campbell, Courteney Cox, David Arquette, Skeet Ulrich, Rose McGowan, and Drew Barrymore in one of the most famous opening scenes in horror history, Scream is equal parts terrifying, funny, and endlessly rewatchable. Thirty years later, it’s still the perfect Halloween-season scare.

🔪 BONUS: Your ticket includes FREE entry to the Nightmare in New Hope Horror Prop Gallery in New Hope on Sunday, October 18! ($10 value)

Make it a double feature of fear. After the film, step into the gallery to see the season’s biggest draw up close: Sidney Prescott’s jacket. It’s on display only through the end of October, so don’t miss your chance to see this piece of horror history before it disappears.

Watch the movie. Then come and see the jacket. Just don’t answer the phone.
